Emersed setup

Hi, Im going to do a small emersed setup with crypts that are already grown emersed. I went to the hydophonics store and bought a base and clear dome ., what substrate do you guys use. Im thinking MGOPM pus pool filter sand as a thin layer? Will that work ?thanks.

I am not the right person to reccomend a substrate for this type set up, but would love to see pics when it is done!

Are you using pots or are you just gonna lay the dirt in your container and plant the crypts? I did the latter and it grew the crypts well. They outgrew my 5 gallon and I had to upgrade. Right now I'm using pots and a new mix of media to grow my emersed crypts.

You could use anything from Hydroton to Aquasoil to Safe T Sorb as long as you're providing humidity and nutrients.
