Question re: Laterite – An Afterthought

Fellow members,

I received a small box of laterite a week ago. It is the consistency of aquarium gravel.

75 gallon MGOPM capped with PFS
Established three weeks
The aquascape is crypt and sag heavy.
Appears to be progressing well

Is it worthwhile to place a few of the larger granules into the substrate using planting tongs?

Is it advantageous to insert laterite into the substrate at this point in the process or leave well enough alone?

Any suggestions for an alternate means of delivering it into the substrate? Gel caps, perhaps?

Thanks in advance.
