Question Play Sand As A Foreground

I have around 75kg of play sand,which i want to use some as a foreground,is normal playsand ok to use or is there a particular type of sand i need to buy,also i want to maybe plant some patches of hairgrass in the foreground,would the sand become to compact for root growth,

Some types of sand have a lot af stuff, that will raise your Gh/Kh and/or conductivity - and some types are to fine, so that whirls up, or chokes the plantroots.

I would never use sand with a grain size under 0.7mm.

Remember that the bigger grains stay on top, small grains underneath.
