Cat Litter planting

I am thinking of change substrate in one of my dirt tanks and i have some Cat Litter that is suiteble for aquarium use. This Cat Litter is also used in the Bonsai Hobby.

It is the Cat Litter that is called (X-tra) that you can see if you scroll down to the middle of this page.

My question is: Is there anybody that have used Cat Litter as the only substrate in the tank? Have there been some problems with planting in Cat Litter, the Cat Litter seems somewhat light weight. I thinking about if there will be problems with plants floating up from the Cat Litter if it is used as the only substrate?

I've read some claims of kitty litter breaking down over just a few months, I've never tried it.

If it holds up well in your bonsai application, it should hold up in aquaria. If it's too light, use more...

I found this thread not too long ago and decided to go for it. I use root tabs and have capped mine with sand. So far so good. Here was an inspiring thread for me. So long as it's only clay (non clumping, non scented) it should work.
