I bought a used tank that already had aquasoil in it, and I filled it about 20-30% so I could start planting some stems that were obeying the laws of gravity a little too well.

After planting two or three stems.... I can't see a thing.

Did two 50% water changes already, still no improvement really. How the hell do you work with this stuff? I'm pretty close to just switching over to flourite or eco-complete.

Shaun

Yea, so after reading a bunch of threads about the stuff, it's definitely not my cup of tea...

I think I have some bags of tahitian moon in the side yard still... gonna just throw that in.

Used aquasoil, depending on how long it's been in water and how often it has beend disturbed, can be made mostly of mush by the time you got it. Best bet is to take it out and strain the remaining substrate that is still in tact.

Yea it was pretty much entirely mush. I just tossed it and used some fluorite sand I had lying around and then capped it with the eco-complete from another tank.
