CRS and old ADA amazonia soil
Need help here...
I have old ADA amazonia soil in my tank that is now strictly a CRS/CBS tank. Yesterday evening I checked the PH with my digital meter and the PH read in the high 8s. I use RO/DI water and remineralize with Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+.
Now I know that PH readings with RO/DI water are never accurate, but shouldn't the PH levels in my tank be accurate? I'm stumped.
Also, if the ADA soil is no longer actively buffering the water, can I leave it in there an use something like humic to lower the PH?
