Switching to??

Right now I have play sand in my 20H tank. I'm not really liking it, because of how fine it is and I'm worried about it compacting. My question is what is the best substrate Other than eco complete, fluorite, etc. I was thinking about pea gravel mixed with a little sand. I will be using root tabs.

I'm also thinking of black diamond, but I heard it is really rough/sharp. Will this harm Cories?

I just put Black Diamond into a tank I am converting over for shrimp.

I have read numerous posts here and on several other forums about it harming Corydora's. Better than 99% of the posts say that there is no harm to the Corydora's using Black Diamond. Make sure you get the 20 / 40 grit BD. I bought a bag of 30 / 40 and it is finer than beach sand. I went back and got the other grain grit. It looks much better.

What size tank are you using, what lights do you have, what plants do you want to grow?
