Washing PFS advice.

I was playing around with my first hardscape and my PFS made a lot of smoke when I was pouring in into the tank. Whats the best method of cleaning PFS substrate?

Rinse it repeatedly in a bucket until the water runs clear.

I filled it slowly and had almost no clouding. It's a little dusty, but pretty clean. It is after all, filter media. Just put a plate on the sand wherever you pour in the water. Do a water change if the first fill isn't clear enough.

Thanks guys. I'll try filtering some of the dust this weekend and hopefully I'll be able to start cycling my tank.

Ah yeah. Didn't think to go out and buy a cheap sifter. Thanks for the idea
