Miracle Gro top soil capped with 3M Colorquartz T-Grade Black Sand

Is it fine to using miracle gro topsoil instead of miracle gro organic choice? Since it is topsoil and not potting mix, is it safe for aquarium use? Also, where can I find 3M colorquartz black sand? Thanks in advance.

The top soil contains manure, so I would avoid it. I have no clue on the sand.

I have miracle top soil in my tank , it's still organic but not the potting soil everybody seems to use , I just put it in and capped it with black sand , never had any problems , no explosions of trapped gasses or nothing , I would use it every time as its soooo cheap

I don't know about topsoil necessarily containing manure --when I think of topsoil, I think of just plain dirt, with no extra organics added. At least that was true of the cheap topsoil I bought to make mineralized topsoil substrate. I guess you could read the bag and see what it says. At any rate, I think it's probably fine for your purposes.

I don't think 3M Colorquartz is manufactured anymore, unfortunately.

Does anyone know of an alternative dark/black sand? I just check the label on the miracle gro top soil, and it does contain manure. Thanks JackFu.
