Preload substrate

Maybe I'm not using the right terms but I'm not finding anything in a search. I have a new bag of cleaned Flourite sitting in a 5g bucket, ready for my tank but I won't be able to switch out substrates til the weekend at the earliest. Is there any point to dosing ferts while it sits to preload it? I will be using fert tabs and week liquid ferts once the tank is settled.

Selling it all!

It always sounds like a good idea to preload Flourite, but I don't recall anyone testing the idea to see if it makes any difference to the plants. My gut feeling is that it won't do much good.
