How Does This Substrate Sound?

This is how I have my substrate set up. What do you guys think.

1. Thin layer of laterite
2. 1 Bag of ADA Amazonia II
3. 2 8lb bags of Fluval Plant Stratum
4. 20lb bag of Black Flourite
5. Another 8lb bag of Fluval Plant Stratum
6. A topper of eco-complete once I am ready to start planting

Do I have all my bases covered? I figured everyone seems to have a preference for a particular kind of substrate and they all seem to have positives so I figured I'd use them all.

This is what my hardscape looks like so far

The individual substrates are all fine. But if you are at all concerned with keeping one particular substrate at the top, stick with 2 at most. Mixing and matching is fine if you have a bunch of leftovers, but if you're going at it from a layering perspective, what you have planned is ridiculous. The first time you uproot something will be the end of it.

Not to concerned with layering. The laterite will stay at the bottom but everything else that I picked is pretty close in colour and a bit of mixing should create a more natural look or so I hope. I have just fluval in my 2 nano's and while I like it I find it a bit too uniform. Also it's a bit light and plants come out of it quite easy. I'm hoping the mix will hold a bit better as well.

It'll work fine. Are you going for a beach at the bottom of a cliff on the right? I like it. That's going to take some extra maintenance but if that's your thing more power to ya!

But at my LFS they said...
