The elusive aquasoil

So I know aquasoil is the preffered substrate of choice for those that have the extra cash. I am looking to get maybe one or two bags to experiment with in a 10 gallon (how much would I need?). Problem is I cannot ever seem to find it in stock anywhere online. Where does everyone get theirs? Anyone offering any amount of used aquasoil? Any helpful tips would be awesome!

One bag should be plenty. Afa and ADG (forum sponsors) should have it in stock in June.

Apparently only places here in Canada aren't sold out. I can mail you a bag but it's $45 plus shipping. Rediculous prices up here.

Yeah that's pretty expensive. What's the average in the states? Right now I have Eco complete but I'm not sure what the fuss is about. It's inert, very light so its a pain to plant stems and such and just not worth it for me although I only paid 16 bucks a bag or so with free shipping. I thought about dirt but a trial run in the 10 gallon proved it to be more of a mess and headache than anything.

AFA and ADG sell it at $28/bag I believe. I thought eco complete was like flourite, but flourite is pretty heavy... pretty much gravel. I just put aquasoil in my new tank last night. It's pretty light compared to anything I've used before.

Aqua Forest has some in stock and ADG I think is expecting some in the next few weeks. http://www.adana-usa.com/ is Aqua Forest site and http://www.adgshop.com/ is ADG shop.

A 3L bag won't really do a 10gal. I would say 1/2 to 3/4 of a bag for a 10gal, especially if you want to plant it.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

One 9 liter bag will do a 15 gallon tank, I'm also trying it my nano for the first time and I have documented the ammonia cycle and water changes to quickly get rid of the ammonia, so check out my nano journal. Prior to the AS it was a mess with Fluval Stratum but my plants have already started to rebound nicely.

It's the shipping from AFA that kills you, luckily I got mine at a club meeting auction for $25, it's great to have around for small tanks.

BTW AFA has it right now!
