Storing used Aquasoil

Hi everyone.
Does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to go about storing ADA Aquasoil that is used? By used I mean it is in a tank now and will be taken out. Should I dry it out first etc.?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help,
John

I'd dry it out. You don't want any fungus/mold growing in the damp soil overtime. Spread it out on some tarp/newspaper/etc let it dry out in the sun and pour it into a container.

How long has it been used for? Would the nutrients still be available after the transition? I suppose it's CEC would still be adequate. Just thinking out loud here...

I drained the water and put it in a ziplock bag. It was good in there until I used it 5-6 months later. I've also keep some in a 5g bucket with a lid. I never completely dried it out and it was fine as well. Think when you get the AS new, how is it in the bag? Not completely dry.

I always just throw mine (and other substrates) into a 5 gallon bucket. Wet or dry. Never had mold, fungus, or any other issues.

This might be a case of good, better, best.
