substrate for acrylic (no scratch)

Do you guys have advice? I've been researching and eco complete seems to scratch acrylic so I am retuning what I bought.

I saw the aqua soil, although I wanted something in black. I was just going to get the fine coarse black petco brand but I don't want the paint to fall off and be cheap.

What I need it something like fine regular gravel but not cheap with paint on it. But really I just don't want to scratch my acrylic and now I have to drag 100+ lbs pack to petco lol.

Hard to feel that stuff in the bag.

Is the aqua soil my best bet as far as not scratching he acrylic while maintaining a good environment for roots?

Ive got a 50 gallon acrylic that has had ecocomplete for about a month...no scratches that I can detect yet.

Small under water scratches are nearly invisible anyways. So there may be some but I dont see them.

I also have my substrate level low on the sides and front to avoid scratches higher up. If there are any below soil level you won't see them. Unless you may eventually use the tank bare bottomed I suppose.

The main thing is just to be careful when moving the substrate. I've had 3m colorquartz in a small acrylic tank, with no scratches. The 3m cq scratches glass pretty easily, know by first hand experience. The only times I have scratched acrylic or glass is when Im cleaning the glass or acrylic with a scrub pad and accidentally pick up a piece of the substrate.
