add aqua soil to an established tank

I'm looking to replace the eco complete in one of my nano tanks to aqua soil. anyone have an idea how long it would take to cycle in an established tank?

I'll let you know in a few days hopefully! I just put 3" in a bare tank two days ago with enough bio filtration to run 100 gallons easily, no gravel, moderate fish load. Took out fish and put in Aquasiol. After 24hrs I was at 4ppm, changed 50% water. 12 hours later I was close to 4 again and after 12 hours more I'm at about 3ppm without changing any water. No plants through all of this yet. Probably worth saying that I switched from 100% tap water to 50/50 tap/RO starting a week before so that could have effecting things also. It's going down so maybe I'm getting somewhere.

The thing about aqua soil is its high ammonia content...You might experience high ammonia for the first one or two weeks. But if they bacteria in your tank is strong enough...they should be able to convert the ammonia to nitrite quite quickly...Add bacteria maybe?

Very well, I have a Fluval C3 HOB, large sponge filter and large Lees box filter in there with rings and floss. I was using that tank to raise angelfish fry to juveniles. I put Fluval 404 in there about a month ago full of ceramic rings, about 1/3 seeded, the rest new rings. I did that because I want to eventually just have a canister on it. I decided to leave everything in there to hopefully clear out the amonia quick when adding the substrate. None of the filters have been cleaned in some time and I purposely didn't rinse anything when I put the Amazonia in there. I'm still getting high readings tonight so this stuff must put out a lot of ammonia when new.
