Any advice for mixing substrate...

I'm planning a 20L and have a 9L bag of ADA aquasoil new amazonia as well as a bag of Eco complete. I'm first hoping this will give an adequate amount of substrate for the tank's footprint. What I am asking for help on is... any ideas of how to arrange it, meaning should I just mix them, place ADA below and eco complete above or the opposite? I'm planning to grow glosso emersed until it achieves a decent carpet or I become impatient. I have used eco complete as a sole substrate and know I have to allow amazonia to leech ammonia and cycle. I'm not giving color much weight in any decision. Thanks!!

I would put the ADA substrate on the bottom, since it is more nutrient rich i believe, and thats what you want your roots to hit. If you have the money, i would just buy another bag of the ADA stuff, it is worlds better than eco complete.

Don't mix the substrates. AS on bottom, Eco on top.

I think EC is a lot heavier and will sink through the aquasoil if you try using it as a cap.

Might be better if you wanted to arrange some sort of divided substrate, such as a path or a band of EC in the front of the tank, perhaps curving in and out at the bottom of some hills.
