steel bb's

was wondering if u put steel shot bb's in substrate would that eventualy raise iron levels or would it not be the same thing

That depends on how long "eventually" is. Given enough time it would raise the iron level, but that could be just in time to welcome your first great grandchildren. (OK, maybe I exaggerated, but it does take a long time.)

thank you sir is there anything "natural" that can b used like rusted metal or somthin of the sort or are the cons outweighing the pro's or is just a dumb idea

Laterite seemed to be the big thing a decade or two ago. Sometimes I think you could find a bag of pellets that you could mix in with your bottom-level substrate. I remember getting some from a pottery supply place for pretty cheap. think it was a dry powder if I remember correctly (which would make adding it to MTS or something pretty easy, but make it rather difficult to put in an established tank)

I think flourite advertises as having Fe available to plants, but I'm not certain.

I would think some of the root-tab type substrate fertilizers would contain iron as well.
