What won't grow in Eco-Complete?

In another thread a seller warned against planting erios in Eco-Complete. What else doesn't do well?

What was the reason stated? Anything should grow in it, as any clay gravel. I presume the reason is because Erios need a very acidic substrate. You could always add a layer of peat underneath the eco complete to make it more acidic.

eco complete are nothing more than crush black gravel... pretty inert and bad CEC.

Eco-Complete has a pretty great CEC. That's its only real benefit - being able to absorb and release nutrients.

I've grown everything from UG to Dwarf Hair Grass in it with no problems. Not my favorite substrate, as it's cheaper to buy crushed black lava, but you shouldn't have many problems if you provide plant nutrition on your own.
