Mixing in Eco still effective?

I have a 75g tank with black diamond blasting sand. Recently I have found a good deal on some bags of eco complete black planted aquarium substrate and was wondering if instead of removing all the old sand and using all eco if mixing in 2 or 3 bags of eco into my existing substrate would benefit the plants that much or would it not be worth it?

Just trying to save a few bucks by not having to buy like 8 bags to do my entire tank in it. Would rather just wait until I had enough for the entire tank if you all think it would be mostly useless, and I REALLY dont feel like picking 2 or 3 bags of eco out of 100lbs of blasting sand.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I say go for it, plants love eco-complete. I'd mix it in, but slowly a bit at a time as not to disturb the other substrate too much.
