trying to make my first top soil substrate.

Seeing a lot of beautiful tanks using mineralized top soil I decided to try it myself. I just bought one cubic foot of topsoil for less than $3. sure beats the price of aquasoil.

I want to try using some of my leftover koi clay which is basically a calcium bentonite i think. and maybe some potters clay for the iron. So i'm assuming muriate of potash is a source of pottasium? what does dolomite do? are these ingredients neccessary? and i'm assuming i can walk into any hydroponics shop to buy these? pottery shops?
