AZOO substrate

Anyone have experience with AZOO substrate? I see in the propoganda in the ad's it is supposed to buffer to the acid side and soften, which is what I need since I cant seem to get my PH down under 7.6-7.8. I would be happy to see neutral without increasing the GH to stone.

Now that I have changed lighting, my plants are doing good but the fish are suffering. Should go African but just can't get excited over them.

The AZOO substrate definitely will lower the PH. You might have an easier time finding Fluval substrate though which will do exactly the same thing. AZOO also might give an ammonia spike...

Thanks This is the first time I have ever had a problem stabilizing PH in a tank. In the 55 I have used 1/2 of the 250gm bottle of Neutral regulator and still have 7.4-7.6. I am half wondering if the FloraMax I have in the tank has some limestone mixed into it.

Just ordered the AZOO and will try it in a 10 gal tank with just plants to start, so the ammonia spike won't be a problem. I had a major ammonia spike in the 55 with the floraMax as well. It seemed to take forever for it to break. We'll see. Be setting it up next week.
