Sand algae removal

Anyone have any hacks for removing algae from the sand bed?
Iím using a turkey blaster and a fork.
Would like to hear if anyone has better ideas.
Thanks.

Sand is typically pretty easy to come by. I usually don't have algae on the sand but in the past when I did I just sucked it up with the gravel vac during water change. When sand got low enough I just dumped more in.

That's why I always buy cheap sand. BTW light colored sand will turn dark just from the bacteria growing on it. So the only way really to keep it looking "new" is to remove.
