Organic soil w/ Nitrogen

Just started a dirted tank. I had all my supplies and was waiting to have free time to put it together. I had purchased a bag of MG organic soil but when I was finally ready and opened the bag, I noticed that it had these little white chips which I can only determine are added nitrogen. I had waited so long to get this tank set up and being impatient, I set it up anyway capping it with gravel. My question is, will this be detrimental to aquatic life?

Are you sure it wasn't pearlite?

It might float eventually but otherwise shouldn't hurt anything.

Phew! Yes, it seems that it’s pearlite. Duh, I don’t know why I assumed it was anything else. Stepping down from the ledge now. Thanks

Iíve used mg organic with perlite, no harm done. My gravel cap is so thick I donít even have perlite floating free!
