Quikrete medium

So none of my local stores has and "pool filter" sand they are only seasonal only. But my Rural King has a Medium grade Quickrete it's 20-50 compared to pool filter grade of 20-40
Would this be acceptable sand for a planted/fish tank over play sand?

Is it the medium commercial sand? I have sakretes version of this in both my tanks and it does great. Very uniform in size compared to some pictures of a few other filter sands I have scene. Washes out very quickly out of the bag, and its cheap. Think its like $10-12 for a 100# bag.

Bump: Wanted to add links, either one of these will work great.

No rural king around my parts, just wanted to show the products. I used the sakrete but they are the same thing.

Yes! The top one you linked is it! That was the one they had. I didn't get it because I wasn't sure if it would be ok! Awesome! I will definitely be getting that and some black diamond blasting sand if they have it to scape with! Ty so much!!

NP, I did a bunch of researching because was concerned myself. FYI all my rooting plants seem to do well in it. I do use root tabs for the amazon swords and other stem plants that can benefit from it. Easy to plant in for the most part, the cory cats love it also.

I did have the BDBS in one tank and liked it at first but in long run didnt care for it. Its really scratchy (sharp), be careful cleaning it as it will tear up the skin on your fingers and if you get any on your glass cleaner it will definitely scratch the heck out of it. Even worse then regular sand. It looked nice and works great for some people so personal preference thing I guess.
