Bubbles coming out of substrate.

I have never seen this before, ever.
When I went to replant a few stems with a aquascaping tool, when I shoved the stem in, a few bubbles came out.

I think that is supposed to mean anaerobic bacteria is in the substrate.

The substrate is Flourite, and there is a substrate heater on the bottom of the tank. The cables down at the bottom of the tank, are supposed to prevent that from happening.

I just did a total cleaning of everything about half a year ago, substrate and all
I did go a bit deep with the substrate.

Time to hit the area with a gravel vacuum I was thinking.

Should I remove some substrate from this area?
It is sort of deep.
