Will disturbing amazonia cause an NH3 spike?
Hey all, exactly as the title states. I set up a new 10gal with about 8l of Amazonia. Maybe I should have vacuumed it at least once or twice when I set up the tank but I have planted the tank already.
The cycle just finished (fishless w/the Amazonia's ammonia leach) and I'm only reading nitrates. (Cycled by water changes daily first week, then I just let it sit rather than following through with ADA's instructions lol). I was wondering, before I add any livestock, if I disturb the substrate will I see an ammonia spike? I have more plants on the way and I've never used Amazonia before so I'd love to hear others' experiences in similar situations before I put in some otto's and knock 'em out right away :L
Thanks in advance! I'm happy to be a part of the planted community!
