Not ready for planting, can I place substrate in tank?

I am not quite ready for planting but I am working on my hardscape (dragon stone and spiderwood). Can I place the substrate (Amazonia) in my tank while I work on my hardscape and leave it in the tank until I am ready to plant? I probably won't be planting for a few weeks after completing my hardscape.

Yes, of course. You can even add some water (and change it every so often) to help get rid of the excess ammonia that Amazonia typically has as well.
