Question Problem with JBL Proscape Aquasoil

Hi There,

Since few weeks ago, i'm trying to use the JBL Proscape Aquasoil substrate in a planted tank without success, perhaps the substrate contains unbalanced minerals in it composition.

Please did anybody here used this substrate ?.

The plants didn't grow. In fact they had the leaves burned, and very ugly. Here is a photo when the problem was started, after 2 weeks after tank plant:

On the 3 week, the things became badly, the eleocharis parvula was completely brown.

JBL on manual structions recomends to change around 50% of the water every 2-3 days in the first 2 weeks. I followed this instructions, doing it every 3 days.

Measuring the water parameters in these days:
PH: 6.4 - 7.0
KG: 2.0 - 5.0
GH: 3.0 - 6.0

The fertilizes used was (all of them in theyr recomended weekly dosage) :
- Seachem Flourish
- Seachem Flourish Excel
- Microbe Liftup Iron

Thanks
Daniel

Plants most often experience melt whenever it's introduces in a new environment, especially if they are previously grown emersed and a lot of plants are sold emersed.

Also are you not injecting CO2 or adding any fertilizer? I'm not super familiar with it but it may not have much nutrients like Controsoil. Lilies also have very delicate leaves and can get damaged during transport and planting.

Refer to advancedplantedtank.com for more information about growing/keeping aquatic plants and aquariums in general.
