Where can I get a reliably white sand?

I've been trying to find a sand that is white, and not off-white / tan.
Local pool store - tan
Caribsea Crystal River - off white / tan, and it kind of smells like detergent
Petsmart brand white sand - it seems to be polymer coated because the grains clump funny and they are hydrophobic, so a lot of the grains float on top of the water.

I don't mind paying more for a small quantity because I only need a little bit. I think what I want is a kind of pure silica / quartz that is either clear or frosty translucent white. Maybe size #20, like the typical pool sands.

HTH Pool Filter sand is the whitest I've found but is still off white. Unfortunately, even if you could get perfect white, it won't stay that way. It stains pretty quickly, so you'll want a lot of extra so you can siphon off the top layer and add clean sand back in.

@beanbag - you can find white, amongst many other colors, of sand here. It's not cheap but you may like it.
