Carpet substrate needs!

Would 3/4 of an inch be enough to grow carpet plants such as HC, DHC, glosso, etc?

Yes. They aren't deep rooters. Planting stems, crypts and swords would be near impossible.

As Jeffww said this is do-able

The only thing is when I had DHG in 3" of substrate it shot its roots almost all the way down in some spots and at least 1.5" down in all the others.

IMO carpet plants will do good but not as good in less crowding conditions where they don't have to fight for space, etc..
