ADA Amazonia Aqua Soil

My Tap Water Chemistry is:

GH 9
KH 7
PH 7.4

How will ADA Amazonia aqua soil affect this? Will it lower my PH? How much?

Hi Walrus - in my experience the substrate will hold the tank to a ph of 6.5 for around 3-4 months and then start slowly climbing. Actual duration will probably depend on water change frequency.

Whatever you do don’t chase the ph - the changes should be slow enough for everything to adapt.

Hi walrus - what I meant is don’t use buffers to correct or change the ph. It will be a constant struggle against the substrate and make the water less stable.
