Dirted tank

I want to switch my 46 from sand to a dirted tank. I have miracle grow potting mix. Would this size gravel work as the cap?

you would be better off going smaller OR make it Deeper OR even a thin cap of smaller gravel with that on top for appearance.

Is there any specific cheap gravel you would recommend?

I also have led light strips, they came with my aquarium kit. Would that be enough to grow low light plants like anubis, crypts, vals and bulbs?

Recommend pool filter sand or Black Diamond blasting grit 20/40.

A larger aggregate allows too much exchange between the soil and water column.
