It's really coarse stuff I wouldn't use it with Cory's. I have it in my 20 gallon long cherry shrimp tank and I love it

Yes it’s safe. I’ve kept cories in it for years and have never seen any damage to their barbels.

Ive just found that 20/40 is the best grain size. I think you’ll find that most of the others here that use it, use the 20/40 as well.

I am using 20/40 with a school of 6 Elegan Cory's and have no issues. Healthy full barbells. Great stuff, especially for the price!

I am having a hard time finding 20/40. I am in Miami and haven't been able to find it in the bix box stores.

The one place I know to get it is Tractor Supply Co. but check this link on their site for a retailer near you (https://www.blackdiamondabrasives.co...-a-distributor).

Otherwise I know people have used Black Beauty blasting sand, but I personally have not so cannot give advise on its use.

I have been using it for over a year with Corys and all is well. But you MUST stay away from the recycled product as it will have been contaminated with bits for whatever it was used for to blast previously. It comes in a mesh bag from black diamond. Do wash it as it can be messy I think the oily looking surface thing many people complain about is just tiny fragments of the product. Eg dust. Definitely should get that out so it doesn’t wind up in places it shouldn’t. (Pump). Best thing I have found is buy an extra bag or two and sift it with water through a window screen out in the yard and let the dust just go into the grass. Fast clean and is easier I think that filling and dumping a tote a million times. My $0.02
