Deep BDBS

This is posted in my journal, but posting the question here to the forum. How deep can I go with Black Diamond Blasting Sand before any issues? See picture below- using homemade substrate supports to keep the sand from leveling out. Right now its maybe 6 to 7 inches deep at the max. I am wondering if I should use lava rock or something under the sand to help prevent anaerobic conditions? I will be planting in the coming weeks.

Let me know your thoughts!

Tanks looks really nice. I dont think that you would wake problems with anaerobics pockets if you put plants.

Thanks. Made a few changes and did go ahead and add lava rock, mainly to make it a bit higher. Here it is now (ust threw the water sprite in for now).

You're fine with that. Seven inches is no problem with an inert substrate.

I've never regretted over engineering a system, but often regretted under engineering one.
