Leonardite root tabs?

I just recently decided to cap the sand in my aquarium with fluorite for two reasons. 1: was because it was too fine and was getting in to my HOB and causing it to wear out my impeller far too quickly. 2: was to provide a better substrate to put live plants in. Im curious if it would be wise to make root tabs out of leonardite instead of taking everything out and redoing it. If so how much leonardite would be good for a 20L?

I had never heard of Leonardite before. That was an interesting rabbit hole to go down. Looks like an interesting thing.

I would suggest making just one root tab and seeing if you have any negative affects. Looks like it's water soluble so it could leak out and give you brown water.

20g high and 10g planted low tech tanks.
