EcoComplete Question re: this stuff is old

I purchased a lot of substrate over 5 years ago as i was getting ready to go high tech planted then the baby came putting my plans on hold. The bags of soil remained unopened and stored away for 5 years but I think I'm ready to jump back into the hobby. My question is; does this stuff have an expiration date as its been put away so long?
The packaging claims the bags contain beneficial bacteria and the soil in the bags is still moist.

Looking forward to meeting members here as the wife finally gave me the green light to go ahead with my aquarium.

Yes it is still good. Also I will add that Eco-complete is misleading because almost none of the nutrients it contains are accessible to plants. I'll let you look into this further yourself though. If it were me I would only use it as a cap over actual soil.

Thank you for the reply... i will certainly do more research. As you can see, I'm in no hurry. I still need to decided on hardscape, too.
