72g Bowfront Affordable Substrate

Looking for ideas for a substrate for a 72g bowfront I just got. Looking to do a high tech setup with a shrimp colony, possibly crystal red/black shrimp or tigers. But I would need a substrate that is either naturally acidic or inert.

I was thinking about using dirt. I have multiple dirted tanks already, but those are low tech tanks. Could I achieve a acidic substrate by using a large amount of peat moss? I have read that farmers use peat moss to acidify the soil.

I have 3 bags of ada africana but would probably need another 2 bags. Unless I did some sort of island style scape, but I have had problems keeping the different substrates separate before.
