Substrate change, rescape

I've had my low tech, DIY CO2 setup for a year and I decided I like this hobby so I'm going with a pressurized CO2 setup with new lights. I had pool filter sand and yesterday I removed it and installed Eco-complete. I used two bags of Eco and it's about 2" deep.

The aquarium is a 29 gallon with a Rena XP2 and an older HOB filter. I use root tabs and EI dosing.

From start to finish it only took me one hour to tear down the tank and set it back up. I had 10 gallon of fresh water ready and I put ten gallons from the tank into an old ten gallon tank I have but don't use. I moved the fish (all except two I couldn't catch) into the ten gallon with a small heater and air stone. I then scooped out most (but not all) of the sand and dumped in the Eco-complete.

Before:

After removing the sand and dumping in the Eco (sorry for the head in the photo):

One hour later:

Today (massive amount of CO2 bubbles, I had it a little too high):

I'm not thrilled with the back left corner so I'm probably going to mess with it tonight. The Ambulia is also lumped together so I need to pull the stems apart. In the front is HC which I hope will carpet well.
