i have a 20gallon tank n i have a bag of blk eco-complete i need to add more substrate in the tank. i was thinking of adding a bag of flourite black sand. Is that any good to plant HC ? Or should i get something else that works better with HC.

The florite balck sand would be fine for HC. But so would the eco-complete. That is what I used when I had HC and it did fine.

38gal. Tetras Forest.

Keep in mind that the sand will sift below much of the eco-complete unless you separate the two.

Turface I'm a major advocate of Turface, lol. If you dose the water column with ferts, it's just about the most cost-effective substrate I can think of. And it looks nice, to boot.
