a good substrate layer setup..
wassup devoted plant tank people.
I need your help... what kind of substrate layer setup you all have?
the reason is I want to start a plant tank. I'm not sure if my substrate layer is correct. I research so many places. they keep telling to put flourite or clay on the very bottom, then sand on top.around 4inch total.....however,I already have the ugf that never use on the bottom for weight support(stupid I know), then 5mm rock about 1inch on top of the ugf, and 1 inch sand on th very top layer. will this be OK for plant tank? althought it won't provide that much nutrient. I mean I can buy those nurtients at the lfs rite? oh yeah should I take that UGF to support the rock weight out? kinna stupid question..
btw, this (fish only) 55g tank already setup a year. which has a couple of fishs in it...I'm chaning it to plant tank.. so should I take everything down and start over?
I have everything that need for plant tank.
130 watt lighning system
DIY CO2 etc.....
I need help on the substrate layers........I'm really appreciate it, if you can help this newbie out....
