No... it isnt the eco causing your raise.

there is nothing else in there, its a 10 gallon with diy CO2, 30 watts with a few amano's and a load of plants. My tap comes out a 6.8 ,5 GH and 3KH. the tank is 7.2 8 GH and 7KH.

What could it be then Buck?

Measure your tap water parameters after the water has rested for a minimum of 12 hours.

i have, after biggish water changes it does lower. Then rebounds. The water in scotland is really soft, tasteless. Those higher figures are after a day of Injection CO2. Any ideas?

There is something else in the tank causing the problem. Do you have any rocks in there? Decorations? Do you now have or have you had a large population of snails?

To make sure take some of the Eco-Complete out of the tank. Place it in a glass and add water that has rested for 24 hours. Make sure to test the water before adding it. This will give you a baseline. Then test the water after 24 more hours have elapsed.

i dont have anything else in there, no rocks, snails etc. ill do that tommorrow.see what happenes. it does say on the bag it contains calcium, but says it doesnt harden the water. Maybe it because my water is so soft that i does harden it slightly?

My suggestion is patience and water changes. For everyone else Fluorite never changes water parameters, but it did for me. My GH and KH were greatly lowered, but after some large water changes it eventually stopped. Your eco-complete could be a temporary anomaly.

I will confirm that others have noticed the liquid in the Eco Complete bag raised their Kh, by about 3-4 degrees (they didn't report changes in Gh).
This is because the water is meant to help buffer. Doing a few water changes should bring the levels back to 'normal'. Again, it's only the liquid 'amazon water'...not the eco complete gravel that's causing your change in parameters.

It seems this isn't consistent though. I didn't see a Kh increase in the tank I used eco in, and others agree...yet several reports are just like yours.
