So I'm trying to start my first planted fluval edge tank and for the substrate I picked up some floramax from petco because I couldnt find any eco-complete at the time..I mixed it with some of my pea pebbles from my old 29 gallon tank also. My question is, Is floramax realible to grown plants in? I can't seem to find much on the internet or of anyones experience with it. :/ just that the size of it might be too big for the plants roots or something similar to that nature

I plan on keeping cherry shrimp and celestial pearl danios if that helps any aswell

I bought a bag and mixed it with the tahitian moon sand I had in my 20H. Looked great, many different grain sizes. Plants did just fine (low tech tank, no ferts, no co2).
