Best substrate for crypts?

In your opinion, what do you think is the best substrate for growing submersed crypts in? I've been debating which brand I should get. Thanks!

I think crypts are generally less demanding then other plants. My very first aquatic plant was a green wendtii crypt. I grew it in plain ol gravel with nothing added and it grew wonderfully. Reproduced new little plantlets at the base of the stem and everything.
