Using both Flourite and Eco-Complete

Hi all,

I recently ordered 3 bags of Flourite from Drs. Foster and Smith. Turns out they sent 2 bags of Flourite and a bag of Eco-Complete.

In the interest of time, I'm not going to bother returning/exchanging. I'm assuming everything would be fine, but I'm considering mixing these together. I was anticipating topping off these substrates with fairly fine gravel. Are there any cons?

Thanks,
Chris

My current preference is using a soil sub capped with Flourite. Flourite and Eco-Complete were both used in a 50/50 mix in one of my bookend 75g tanks while the other is 100% Flourite with the substrates roughly the same depth. Both tanks do equally well with everything else duplicated Lighting, temp., CO2, dosing, plant density(very close).

(IMO) I'd skip the gravel.

Is it Flourite brown? I just set up a tank with a base layer of Eco-complete (black) tried it as the main substrate but just wasn't a fan of the black so I capped it with around an inch of flourite brown. IMO I think the brown looks more natural. But its personal preference. Theres nothing wrong with mixing the two together.
