Need suggestions on root tabs.

Planning on adding root tabs to my 75 gallon high tech tank. Any suggestions on good brands and where I may find them?

seachem flourish tabs are really good. They tend not to break down as quickly as the API any good LFS should have them or be able to order them.

I “roll my own”.
I use common clay (it has extra iron), crush it to a powder,
then use pre mixed macros & micros to wet it.
Roll it into marble sized balls and let dry.
Push em into the substrate once a week.
If you’re careful, the water does not cloud up.
Works great and a lot more inexpensive than store bought ones.
When I gravel vac later, the excess clay comes out.

I use seachem root tabs. They great and I think they last longer than others.

the flourish tabs are kinda spendy in the long run...and just add trace/micro nutrients (someone correct me if i'm wrong...really puzzling why they're so huge)...aquariumplants.com has a comprehensive root tab and they're not too expensive (don't buy the applicator unless you're afraid of getting your hands wet...and don't read anything they have to say about fertilization cause it's a load of crap)...i'm sure there are others.

I've used both Flourish tabs and Wonder-Gro Root+ both to good results. Wonder-Gro Root+ is the cheaper option at $20.00 plus shipping for 50 tablets. I also quarter the tablets so 200 chunks @ 0.10 a plug. Currently Over_Stocked (member here) is developing a new product but too soon to tell as prototype distribution occurred just last week.

I use Pfertz tabs. Plants took off after switching from Flourish to Pfertz products. Last 3 months and aren't expensive.

They are out of stock for a while now, at least 3 weeks. I think I'll call them today to inquire.

The Seachem or API root tabs work ok and they should be easy to get locally for just about anyone but they need to be changed out quickly. My personal all time favorite is Dupla tabs followed by Tropica capsules but both of those are hard to find in the US the Pfertz tabs are better than the Seachem or API but you have to order those online.
