Question Active flora over dirt?

I have a 29 gallon tank set up with dirt substrate and River silt for topping. Thinking when I move it would be easier to set it up using Active flora. To prevent recycling will save 1/2 of present substrate and use it as base substrate when set it up.

I am wondering if in time if the Active flora will mix with with the dirt substrate? If yes then I need to use River sand again for topping.

whenever you mix two materials of different diameters...there will ALWAYS be some mixing and settling

aka the Brazil Nut Effect

dont worry about topping the Activ Flora (great stuff btw), just choose one that will match in color and will still look attractive after it mixes in
