Water celery (Oenanthe javanica) for riparium?

I was at a local garden center today, and noticed that they have water celery, Oenanthe javanica, as a marginal for ponds. Its beautiful and seems like, aside from possibly growing too fast, it would be an excellent addition to riparium planters.
Here's a link to info from Foster and Smith:
Anyone have experience with it?

It is invasive, aggressive but not too difficult to get rid of. Just tear the pond apart, dig out the whole stream/bog garden part and sift the peat-soil to get rid of every bit. Then hand weed everything that tries to sprout for the rest of the year.

In other words- avoid it!

In a Riparium Planter, there shouldn't be any worry of the plant growing rampant.

As for experience with it, I found this thread: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...anthe+javanica

Also ask hydrophyte (on this website) for any of his experience. He runs Riparium Supply and has tried every plant possible!

Good Luck!

I'm considering starting some from seed for my rip planters, but I don't have a tall enough light. You can find it under other names, especially Kang kung
