de rimming a 75

i know this has gone back and forth but i need to ask for myself.

can i safely derim a 75 standard tank for a riparium build?

less than half water is expected.

i read some older threads and there is an obvious trend for folks to avoid it like the plague. however there have been those who have found success.

i understand the risks, so i was hoping this would not become a thread for those who oppose the idea. I was hoping that you guys could help me do it right if possible. thanks

It's so inexpensive and simple to reinforce it that I wouldn't risk not doing so, regardless of your only filling to halfway. Just have a local custom glass place cut you some pieces for eurobracing. That's what I've done with a 40B I'm in the process of setting up. The glass was cheap. I'll have the piece of mind that I'm not setting up a water-glass grenade in my home that's waiting to explode.

From what I have read as long as it just the top you should be ok. Removing the bottom would be a no-no.
