emergent plants that dont need planters- species names
Recently purchased a nice cylindrical glass vase (11" tall, 12" radius) that I plan on turning into a no tech (although may get a small filter if necessary) planted tank.
My main aim was to get a nice piece of wood and attach some anubias and moss. Id also like some of the wood to be above the water surface. Which got me thinking about ripariums and how it would look cool as one.
I dont think Id want to use the planters you can buy (and im not sure where I would get them here anyway). I may be able to get the wood positioned in a good way, so that it creates little nooks close to the surface for some plants.
Are there any species that can be planted in the water, even in the bottom, and grow up through the water with lots of leaves above the surface?? Creating the look you get with the riparium planters without actually using them.
