are crickets really okay to feed to leos?

I have been left with the temporary care of a pair of female geckos... They had been fed with waxworms and mealworms... However, my nearest supply is about 2 hours away... I don't know when they've been fed last, but I have gutloading food for crickets/worms as well as fish flake I can mix with it... From what I have read, flake can be good to fatten them back up and bring out some color, but shouldn't be fed more than 1 out of every 3 or 4 feedings.. advice?

Crickets are fine. Just don't let them stay in the tank too long of they start to bother the gecko. Maybe feed just a few at a time and gut load the rest.
